surprises

this weekend was full of surprises. well. maybe only two.

1. justine and i successfully surprised my little sister malorie by showing up at her musical which i had said i would not be able to attend.

2. justine had her appendix removed on sunday morning.

so, number 2 is a bit of a bigger surprise.

i'm sure justine will relay the details as need be, but basically, after sleeping only two hours on saturday night (from 12:30 am - 2:30 am) and a late night snack of saltines at 4:30, justine's right side pain was bad enough that we all (meaning my parents, me, justine, and the doctor from our church who came over as 6:30 am to check justine's appendix) felt it would be a good idea to head to the er.

so, we just got home around 9:20 pm. she is doing well, although very tired, sore, and slightly drugged.

basically, it's been an exhausting day.

oh. and #3 - justine's mom is coming out tomorrow. which i feel is good because who doesn't want their mommy after an appendectomy.
