i felt like i had to blog. i'm not sure if that is a good thing or not.
today is the fourth and i did absolutely nothing to celebrate. except malorie and i splurged and bought starbucks coffee ice cream. i don't personally like the fourth of july all that much. they were playing patriotic songs before church (like the prelude's prelude) off a cd and it really bugged me. but whatever.
happy canada day belated. my dad wore a tie to church that looked like a canadian flag.
yup. that is about as patriotic as my family gets.
i also realized that fireworks are legal in south dakota, unlike illinois. i like the illinois rule better. it's much quieter.

work is good. i like it better than lifeguarding, even if the pay is less. my trainers are amazed at how fast i'm picking up on things. i don't have the heart to tell them its ridiculously easy to figure out. the only tough part is remembering the various recipes for the avalances (blizzards in dairyqueenspeak). other than that, its good. and quite messy. and sticky. which makes sense because it's ice cream. i tend to smell like waffle cones when i get home.
malorie and i are going to the opening showing (at 12:01 am) of the new harry potter movie next week. it was my birthday present to her. i think we might be nerdy (and by nerdy i mean totally awesome) and dress up. i'll post pictures if we do.
i leave for canada in a little over a week. i am excited about this vacation. it will be good. the driving with the family will be interesting, but hopefully it will be fine.
um. i'm ready to be back at dordt. that would be cool.

I didn't do much for the 4th, either. Except pick up my sister in the middle of South Dakota b/c her car broke down. And we missed fireworks. So, you had church? Hmmm. We did not. That must make us heathens.
no, we didn't have church. we had church on sunday which was canada day.
