i wasn't going to be busy...

honestly, who was i kidding? me, not be busy?

and trust me, i'm not complaining. i love being busy. it's wonderful.

i'm singing for gift again this year. i'm excited. i really missed singing last year. we had our first practice last night and we have another one tomorrow night. i think the team will do quite well. i'm already impressed by tim and rachel's leadership, as well as their desire to ask questions and know more and learn. and i don't have any pressure on me. i just get to sing loudly to God, which is awesome.

all in all, things are going quite well. i'm designing makeup for the fall show, which is proving to be crazy since there are 35 cast members. my classes are good, especially ecclesiology with Leif. the entire premise of the class is basically the question "what is church". such interesting and fun conversations happen! directing class is fun as well, although with acting class on top of that, scheduling things is a little difficult.

in sad news, madeline l'engle died. she was 88 and lived in a nursing home. i couldn't believe that when i found out. i felt like someone from my childhood died. her writing has been my constant companion from grade school on. then today, i got recieved this quote in my inbox. i think it's absolutely beautiful and absolutely true.

"creation continues lavishly, and we are a part of it. not only are stars and people and fireflies born, not only do they die, but what we as creatures do during our lifespan makes a difference. we are not just passive, acted upon; we are actors in the great drama of creation."
