Ahh, reminiscing. I have been doing that a lot this week. There has been a lot of laughter involved. I decided that laughing is on the "Top Ten List of SarahJo's Favorite Things To Do...Ever."
Besides laughing, I've been doing a lot of planning for the upcoming weeks of camp here at good old Inspiration Hills ("they're inspirational!"). Basically, my job (lodge coordinator) is to plan the entire week for both the counselors and the kids. I make up the schedule of events (times, places and participants), make sure all the necessary equipment is there, deal with any sort of emergency that may happen along the way, and be prepared not to use plan "a" but plan "f". And anything else that pops up unexpectedly, I am most likely given to deal with as well.
For those of you who know me and how I work under pressure, you know this summer is going to go quite well for me :-).
Nahh....I am really nervous, actually. This is a huge responsibility, which is dawning on me more and more as I prepare more and more. And as I prepare more and more, I feel less and less prepared. AHHHH!!!! Prayers are definitely welcome.
It's been quite silly here, though, despite all the serious planning going on. Tonight, we had the first bonfire of the summer (although not officially because the whole summer staff won't be here until Sunday evening) at Sunset Point. We watched the tail end of the sunset (just the glowing red ball sinking down into the ground) and then had a fire, singing, telling semi-scary stories, one horribly creepy story that successfully creeped us out. It was grand. There was also a point today when three of the other coordinators danced to random songs (from Bon Jovi to Hanson to RunDMC) with ribbon dancer-things. It was quite the sillyness.
In otherwords, I am having a large amount of fun.
But I definitely miss you all. I'll try to stay in touch through email and here throughout the summer, but I'm not the best at it.
love hugs kisses

I totally drove in... well near, inspiration hills today. It was nice.
I have never been to a camp before... and I think I might be too old to go now. Oh well. Good luck, your job sounds pretty hard. All I have to do is fix things and get stinky.
