this past saturday was a simply spectacular day.
my friend sarah and i traveled to chicago and had quite the day.

sarah had never been to chicago.
so first i took her to millenium park, where we took the
ever-important photo of our reflections in the bean.

after touring the park, we headed over to the art institute. we saw this painting - one of my favorites - and many other beautiful works of art. we were sad, however, as the modern and contemporary wing was shut down for renovations. we also each bought a lot of prints to hang on the walls of our apartments.
after spending the morning looking at paintings, sculptures and installations, we headed over to the theatre district to see...
Wicked!
it was really really good. we were happy to bask in the glow of theatre well done.

by this time, we were both pretty hungry.
sarah was able to experience true-chicago style pizza for the first time.
it was a great day.

Sarah,
I loved reading about your trip to Chicago. My freshman year I went to Trinity before transferring to Dordt. I went to the Art Museum with my Art class and I remember pizza. There is no better pizza than Chicago pizza. Anyways, your blog took me back a few years and I thought I'd let you know how much I enjoyed the post. (I'm not stalking you but every once in a while I check to see how you're doing; I hope that's ok). -Justine's mum
